Infrastructure Repair
She and her husband had lived in the same house for more than 50 years. They had raised a family there, and built loving memories within those walls. After his death, she tried to keep up with the maintenance. But time was taking its toll on her body. It hurt her to climb the stairs. It hurt to walk to the mailbox. That's why her decision to move to Wesley Woods did not hurt. Our planners had arranged for everything she needed – from her doctors to a close community of friends – all within easy reach...
Enlightenment provides the framework for building a better future.
We are passionate about providing excellent care for our patients and residents. It's a real challenge to have to balance their needs against those of aging buildings and facilities. Many of our structures are more than a quarter of a century old. They need constant maintenance and repair.
Also, many structures were simply not designed for the realities we face today. Back in 1954, there were few wheelchair-bound residents in Wesley Woods Towers. Most residents were in their early 60s. Today that average age has risen to 84. Wheelchairs and walkers abound. And limited elevator space is just one of the issues impacting the residents' quality of life.
Fortunately, friends of the Foundation provide the financial support that keeps our physical plants operating in good condition. We'd like to do more in the way of cosmetic improvements, and your donations can make these needed renovations happen.
