The Foundation Welcomes New President and CEO and Director of Development

The Foundation of Wesley Woods is pleased to announce the selection of Mike Watson as President and CEO. Mike has 35 years of experience and a successful track record at both BellSouth Corporation and Auburn University. Most recently, he served as the co-chair of the Atlanta Campaign for Auburn University’s “It Begins at Auburn” Capital Campaign. Prior to that, he was responsible for the operations, management, and giving strategy of the BellSouth Corporation’s Corporate Foundation, and for a volunteer corps of 100,000 employees and retirees from nine Southeastern states.

Kate Kauffman joins us as Director of Development. She has a well rounded background in the field of fundraising. Most recently, Kate was the Leadership Giving Manager at the Georgia Tech Alumni Association, where her efforts were concentrated in solicitation and stewardship of donors in the Leadership Circle, which resulted in more than $1.7 million annually. Prior to this experience, she worked in the marketing and development departments at the Shepherd Center where she developed her passion for fundraising. From 2003-2006, she was with the Girl Scout Council of Great Atlanta where she worked on the annual fund campaign and was also responsible for the training of development volunteers, donor records and matching gifts.
